Below is the Bourne End Telephone Directory for 1896. These numbers were used for a short time only. The 1897 directory has different numbers.
Below is the Bourne End Telephone Directory for 1896. This is the earliest telephone directory with a Bourne End exchange listed. These numbers were used for a short time only. From the 1896 directory it appears that there were small blocks of numbers assigned per exchange e.g. Maidenhead 1-299,Slough 300-399,Windsor 400-499, Bourne End 500-599,Staines 600-699 etc. This looks to have been revised before the 1897 directory which has different numbers.
