Wooburn Green School
The building and location
The original Wooburn Green School was built in 1806 after the closure of Mrs Biddle's school house at Dell House, Wash Hill. It was set up by Wooburn Vicar, Rev. Tyndale. It was located on the left of the entrance to to Wooburn House, home of the Gilbey family. It was rebuilt in 1865 by Rev. Ashley to accommodate 150 children. It closed as a school circa. 1930. The 1865 building exists as Manor House Lodge.
