Back to How To

This page shows how to create a table in a page.

First activate the second editing ribbon by pressing the more (...) icon at the right end of the main ribbon The Table icon is a two by two rectangle. Click on this and the table window will open. When you click on this the table menu is displayed, from this select "table" and choose the number of rows and columns that you require (this can be changed to lower or higher later). The table is created at your cursor location on the page but unfortunately this is not obvious. Right click where the table should be and if you have the correct location  the Table context menu will be opened. Select "Table Properties" and the set the "Border Width" to 1 and clock "Save". You should then see the empty  table cells.

Whenever your cursor is inside the table  a table menu is displayed from which you can

  • change table properties
  • delete the table
  • add a row above current row
  • add a row below current row (if adding to the bottom of the table this can also be done by tabbing from the bottom row)
  • delete current row
  • add a column to the left of current column
  • add a column to the right of current column
  • delete the current column

When the "Table Properties" option is clicked the following can be configured

  • Under "General" options
      • Table width and height
      • Cell Spacing and Padding
      • Border Width
      • Whether or not a table caption is included. If ticket an additional merged row is inserted at the top of the table for the caption to be written
      • Alignment (Left, Right or Centre)
      • The Class (leave this as Wikitable)
  • Under "Advanced" options
      • Border Style (solid, dotted etc.)
      • Border Colour
      • Background Colour

Below is a 5 x 4 table with caption
