Wooburn

The parish of WOOBURN contains 2850 acres; assessed to the Property Tax in 1815 at 4923l.; the population was returned in 1831 at 1972. The benefice was returned in 1834 as a vicarage, of the annual value of 138l., in the presentation and impropriation of J. Dupre, Esq. The village is three miles S. W. of Beaconsfield, on the banks of the Wycombe stream, about a mile above its entrance into the Thames. Several mills at Wycombe, on the stream, are in this parish.
